Product Description:

mPEG2-NHS ester: polyethylene glycol (PEG) 유도체로, PEG chain의 한쪽 말단에 두 개의 methoxy 말단기를 포함하고 다른 쪽 말단에 하나의 N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester functional를 갖습니다.
mPEG2: mPEG2는 수용성과 생체적합성을 제공하며 다른 분자에 PEG를 추가하는 데 사용됩니다.

• PEG (Polyethylene Glycol): PEG is known for its water solubility. The PEG portion of the mPEG2-NHS molecule contributes significantly to its hydrophilic (water-loving) nature and reduces immunogenicity
• NHS Ester:The NHS ester reacts with primary amines, forming stable amide bonds. However, the overall solubility of the molecule is still largely influenced by the PEG component.

Uses of mPEG2-NHS:

It’s commonly used in bioconjugation to modify proteins, peptides, and other molecules containing primary amines.  

• Protein Modification: mPEG-NHS is frequently used to modify proteins, increasing their solubility, stability, and circulation time. This process, known as PEGylation, can improve the therapeutic efficacy of protein drugs.
• Surface Modification: It can modify various surfaces, including nanoparticles and other materials, to enhance their biocompatibility or provide specific functional groups.
• Amine Group Labeling: The NHS ester reacts with primary amine groups (-NH2) on molecules like proteins, peptides, and amine-modified oligonucleotides, enabling labeling or conjugation.

Solubility of mPEG2-NHS:

• The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
• It is also soluble in organic solvents like DMSO, DCM, and DMF.
